2006-2007 Teaching Goals To implement the use of centers in science and math, which will allow students to work at their own rate, and enrich their learning.
To provide one-on-one instruction in reading, so as to aid in identification of high frequency words, and mastery of Dolch sight words to help improve reading skills.
Special Activities in the second grade classroom Cross-curricular owl unit, accelerated reading program, math learning games, spelling bees, First Reconciliation, First Eucharist, field trips, garbage and recycling cross-curricular unit, reading partners, and writing and publishing books.
Teaching Style Each day is organized and runs smoothly. The students know what is expected of them. We respect each other, and do our best to work as a school family during the year we are together. We do group work, individual work, and work with partners. Extra credit is available for the students who wish to challenge themselves.
